10 Visual Ideas That Will Increase Your Social Engagement

10 Visual Ideas That Will Increase Your Social Engagement

In social media, the most engaging posts (that is, the one that gets interactions such as likes, retweets, shares and comments) are the ones with visuals.

I have been fortunate to learn this as a social media manager. Indeed, a social media post with visuals gets more attention than a post with just text.

Last year, I was fortunate to teach 7 visual ideas that will increase social media engagement in one of Jomar Hilario’s Monday Webinars. The 7 visual ideas were taught by Marcus Ho, a best-selling author and Director of Social Metric, a digital marketing agency in Singapore. You may check out his Social Media Examiner article about the 7 visual ideas here.

Since learning the visual ideas, I have used them for other clients. Here are some of them:

I have also used the visual ideas for my own brand. You may have seen some of them in my blog posts and in the Home Page. Here are some more that I created in Canva:

This time around, I decided to add three more visual ideas to create a list of 10. I added the three based on the articles that I have read and observations on social engagement behavior.

As a challenge to you, you may want to choose 4 or 5 out of the 10 visual ideas that I mentioned. Create your own version of your chosen visual ideas and post them on your social media or make your own blog post like this!

I hope these visual ideas will help virtual assistants who are specializing in social media, as well as clients as they continue to converse with their audience in their chosen social network.

This is so powerful that it is almost exceptionally laziness – but I love automation!

I am using Buffer as an auto-posting tool since this year. I am so glad to be a Buffer user because not only it spells AUTOMATION, it also has exceptional articles ready for you to share to your chosen social media platform.

Recently, after much careful thought, I tried another automation tool: IFTTT or If This Then That. According to Wikipedia, IFTTT is a “web-based service that allows users to create chains of simple conditional statements, called ‘recipes’, which are triggered based on changes to other web services such as Gmail, Facebook, Instagram, and Craigslist.” Continue reading

Announcing: YouTube Thumbnails

A week after the Date with Freedom: 2015 Virtual Careers Summit and Seminar, I was able to do create and use the YouTube thumbnail not only on my video blog, but also for my client!

YouTube’s video thumbnails let people see a quick snapshot of your video. But if you don’t want that, you can use the custom video thumbnail. This was one of my skills takeaways from the summit. Continue reading

If third time’s a charm, then so be it.

Not only was I able to grace the weekly webinar of my mentor, Jomar Hilario recently. I was also able to teach other virtual career workers skills on visuals!

I was privileged to be a guest in the webinar for the third time, this time showing the participants the 7 visual ideas that can increase social engagement. I learned them from my former client, Marcus Ho, who was just happy to know that the webinar went well.

To make sure the webinar attendees understood what they learned, I asked them to choose 4 out of 7 visual ideas that they prefer and look for examples for each visual. As of this writing, the attendees are still posting their assignment outputs in the Facebook Groups where we belong (You smashed it, guys! Good job!)

To my surprise, Jomar asked me to demo how I created a visual bullet using Canva. This happened after I mentioned during the webinar that I will be creating a visual out of the 3 success lessons from Manny Pacquiao (discussed in the webinar). Well, I was happy to oblige.

The webinar replay is featured in the Date with Freedom website as of this writing. But if a new webinar is up, no worries. Here are the videos (now in three-part series!).

Happy learning!

The Facebook Ads Process Outside Facebook: a Wealth Summit Booth Volunteer Experience

To be honest, I am still in the process of recovering from spent energy when I joined the Work from Home Booth Volunteers during last week’s Wealth Summit. But it was all worth it because I got to bond with my co-booth volunteers, rub shoulders with the speakers and The Feast personalities, and learn from some of the Wealth Summit talks.

Jomar gave us instructions on how to invite people to the Work from Home booth. He brought his two pieces of mobile whiteboard and provided us with messages: two for those who are interested to work from home as virtual assistants (the programs offered are VA Summit 2015 and VA 202) and two for business persons who would like to increase their sales online using Facebook ads (the current strategy discussed for the Marketing Success Formula). Since the time we joked about the messages as “A/B testing of Facebook Ads”, we never stopped using the Facebook Ad terms.

So to recap the wonderful two-day experience, here is how ads are run – outside Facebook.  Continue reading
