Korean Hearts Flutter: Date With Freedom Summit 2017

Jomar Hilario’s Virtual Careers Summit: Date With Freedom 2017 recently took place. Over 100 people, composed of summit participants, their family and friends (more on this later) attended.

You may remember that two years ago, I was one of its speakers. This time around, I heard 10 success stories of virtual professionals AND a client (Dr. Sixto Carlos of Makati Dog and Cat Hospital). For the second time around, Preacher in Blue Jeans Bro. Bo Sanchez stopped the summit because of his presence – literally!

Korean Hearts Flutter: Date With Freedom Summit 2017

Here’s what I learned: the virtual professional speakers were getting better, not only in speaking but also in their online careers.

Do you know why?

Because they learned from others who got in the online career path first. They got the best practices. They took note of the face palm moments and decided to never do it.

AND they included their great personalities.

Nagmo-morph din pala ang virtual professionals, ano?

It was a day of learning, fun, and meeting new aspiring virtual professionals, and my super friends!

Here are some of the highlights of the Date With Freedom Summit:

Liza Dela Cruz tells us that YES, there is job security in virtual careers.

Korean Hearts Flutter: Date With Freedom Summit 2017

Yuan Natividad advised us to “forget what you feel and remember what you deserve”.

Korean Hearts Flutter: Date With Freedom Summit 2017

Rowell Austria told his heart tugging story about him leaving his daughter every time before he became an online professional.

Korean Hearts Flutter: Date With Freedom Summit 2017

Rachel Buiza brought the hands down with her amusing stories. She told me during the break that she appreciated the Skype call we did a few years ago when she was starting. I actually couldn’t remember, but hey, I think she’s doing exceptionally now!

FAM BAM Part: an interview with the family members of two of the summit speakers.

Korean Hearts Flutter: Date With Freedom Summit 2017

Dr. Sixto Carlos of Makati Dog and Cat Hospital shared with us the perspective of a client. He’s so humble and he. loves. marketing. period.

Korean Hearts Flutter: Date With Freedom Summit 2017

Rowen Iral showed us that it’s possible to ask a traditional company if we could do remote work – and they would say YES!

Korean Hearts Flutter: Date With Freedom Summit 2017

Jay Sarthou and Pinky Anicete (not on this photo) tempted me to change careers! They are home-based travel agents and they are getting every travel perks you can imagine.

Korean Hearts Flutter: Date With Freedom Summit 2017

Melvin Receno, a former OFW, shared how power words – ordinary words used at the right time – could trigger something exceptional for you.

Korean Hearts Flutter: Date With Freedom Summit 2017

Analyn Roque is a Virtual Manager. She hires and manages and guides virtual professionals. I love how she shows genuine concerns to all the people she hires.

What’s more, this year’s summit allowed the participants to bring their family members and friends! They also got the chance to meet virtual professionals in the flesh because aside from the speakers, there were also virtual professional guests who hopped from one table to another.

I was one of the guests during the summit so I got to transfer from one table to another and answered questions. Here are more photos!

To Jomar and his team and volunteer (hugs to all!) , plus the speakers and other guests, THANK YOU for making this happen for the third time!

12 hours. It may seem sssooo long. But if you’re having fun, it’s not enough.

Speakers and guests with Jomar. Thanks, Jomar, for making this happen!

My First Copywriting Exercise Experience

A few months ago, I published a blog about the lessons on investing in yourself while passing by NAIA-X. I mentioned there that I came from Jomar Hilario’s Masterclass, so I am going to talk about that now on this post.

The said Masterclass is Copywriting 101. Since I have an experience in creating landing pages, email marketing sequences, and preparing Facebook ad creatives, I thought it is about time to formally learn about copywriting. As you know, all the skills that I mentioned would be best combined with copywriting skills.

I had the privilege to attend the Copywriting 101 Masterclass because I guested in one of Jomar’s webinars in 2017. So off I went to the half-day masterclass, armed with a notebook, pen, and colored pens.

A Jomar Hilario seminar won’t end without an assignment. So for the Copywriting 101 Masterclass, the students were asked to COPY one of Robert Collier’s books. “Copy” means you get a notebook and a pen and you literally copy the content of the book.

Can you imagine your life back in school where you had to copy the notes on the board the entire Social Studies time? (Oh gosh, those hand aches.)

Yes, just like that. This time, more exciting.

I decided to look for my own material to write. I saw Gary Halbert’s Famous Dollar Letter. There is literally a $1.00 on the copy so it intrigued me. (As I did my research, one of Ryan Deiss’ sales letters also had a $1.00 on top of the page. Yep, it still works until now!)

After a month and 12 pages later, I finished copying the letter! Here’s the proof of the pudding:

my first copywriting exercise experience

This may seem crazy to you, but something happens when you practice copywriting. As I wrote each letter, I learned how each paragraph provides information, empathize with a customer’s challenges, and clearly explains the solution. Heck, I myself wanted to buy what Gary Halbert was selling!

As of this writing, I just finished writing Robert Collier’s The Boron Letters Chapter 1 in just one sitting. I also learned about exercising on that first letter.

Did my hand ached? Heck, yes! But it’s worth it!

I am excited to get the copywriting vibe of the greatest copywriters in the world! How about you?

Would you like to learn copywriting, too? Jomar Hilario’s Masterclass is offering Copywriting 101 and 202. Take your spot here and start learning:

Do You Mean Business? Let’s Talk via Clarity.fm!

Early in 2017, I attended Jomar Hilario’s Instant Virtual Skills. He mentioned a lot of tools and insights but one struck with me.

“Filter clients from non-clients.”

A tool that he recommended to this is Clarity.fm. It is a platform where you are able to talk to experts on different areas of business for 15 minutes. So if you have concerns or decisions, schedule a call with an expert and get well, clarity!

Jomar instructed the Instant Virtual Skills students to sign up as an EXPERT. For the students who are finding it hard to talk to people on client-VA interviews, a Clarity.fm-15-minute-call would help them get used to talking to potential clients.

From my end, I saw a deeper meaning to filtering. So the day after the Instant Virtual Skills sessions, I created my Clarity.fm Expert account.

Do you mean business? Let's talk via Clarity.fm

Here’s a screenshot of my Clarity.fm Expert approval Yay!

Here’s how Clarity.fm works.

You may ask: I already have a website, social media accounts and subscription to freelancing sites. Why get a Clarity.fm account?

Here’s my answer: I want to give advice to people who mean business.

I know that freelancing sites aren’t the only way to salvation, clients and VAs alike. By providing advice to business owners, I’d get to show what I have learned in online marketing and social media from years of doing it.

I know that there are still aspiring VAs who want to build their virtual careers. I’d like to filter the whatever-it-takes people from the curious.

Are you an aspiring virtual assistant who wants to experience a freedom lifestyle?

Are you a business owner who wants to get better insights on your online business?

Let’s talk via Clarity.fm! Schedule a call with me on this link.

Team South Represent Jomar Hilario Virtual Careers Team South Meet Up

Team South Represent: Jomar Hilario Virtual Careers Team South Meet Up

Last year, an idea from Elena Solon popped up while on the road. “We should get together another time. You know, work outside the house.”

A few weeks after, we got a “Yes” signal from Jomar Hilario to set the meet up under the Virtual Careers Group (it’s the Facebook Group of those who attended his seminars and read his book).

That was it. I saw myself working on the first meet up of Jomar Hilario’s students with Elena, Nino and Yuan Natividad, and Nath Reyes.

We named it Team South because the meet up is for those virtual assistants residing in CALABARZON and MUNTAPARLAS. But on every meet up, we welcome virtual assistants (or aspirants) from other neighboring areas (Hey, you guys should create your own hahaha).

Last year, we organized two meet ups: one in Buku Buku Kafe in The District Imus and another one in Alabang Town Center.

First Webinar Guesting for 2017: Uncovering The Answers To Common Issues Of Working From Home

I was humbled and honored to a panelist of Jomar Hilario’s webinar on Uncovering The Answers To Common Issues Of Working From Home. It was my first webinar guesting for 2017 and I’m with fellow virtual assistant friends!

Together with the motley crew Niño and Yuan Natividad, Eleazar Jose and Sheree Brizo, we answered questions that current virtual assistants experience.

AEVA Normal by Jomar Hilario_blog

Normal by Jomar Hilario

Years ago, my mentor, Jomar Hilario, posted a poem on his website. I printed the poem and posted it on my cork board in my room.

At first, I didn’t understand the depth of the poem. During that time, I am beginning to learn online marketing and work-from-home opportunities as a virtual assistant.

Years went by and every time I read the poem in my room, I began to realize that I have become abnormal. In a good way, I hope.

I thought of reading the poem and uploading it to my SoundCloud. As I asked Jomar’s permission, I inquired of the poem’s title. Yes, the poem had no title!

So after many years, Jomar named the poem “Normal”.

What are your thoughts about Jomar Hilario’s “Normal” poem? Share it on the comments below.

4 reasons why I still volunteer at Virtual Careers Seminar of Jomar Hilario

4 Reasons Why I Still Volunteer at Virtual Careers Seminar of Jomar Hilario

I signed up and did my job as a volunteer for Jomar Hilario’s latest run of his Virtual Careers Seminar.

You might ask: I am an exceptional Social Media Engineer. Why do I still volunteer for the said event?

Here are the reasons why:

  1. The Virtual Careers Seminar started everything for me. Yes, I attended Jomar’s 2-Day Internet Marketing Workshop first before he offered the How To Become a Virtual Assistant Seminar. (That was how long the seminar name was.) Yet it was in the latter where I decided to make the leap. During that time, becoming a VA seemed attainable. And so I completed my assignment, faced many rejections, until I got job offers.
  2. Because of the Virtual Careers Seminar, I got a job offer that made me a full-time virtual professional. In the next seminar batch, Jones Mancilla, a volunteer, listened to a Arvin Peralta talked of his online career journey. Arvin told the participants that his client is looking for another social media manager. Even if I wasn’t a volunteer, Jones immediately sent me a message. “I instantly thought of you. I know you fit the job,” I remember Jones saying. Months later, I was accepted as a part-time social media manager. After one month, I was offered the full-time position, which led me to resigning from my government job.
  3. It is untrue that I no longer learn from the same seminar. I shared anecdotes on the Jomar Hilario Virtual Careers Group. They may be funny, but the learnings still made sense today. Moreover, I witnessed the participants engaged that would make them understand what they would to do after the seminar. (I saw them dissect my virtual careers resume on the workbook given. I didn’t know what to think nor feel.)
  4.  The latest seminar run took place on my birth month. So, I thought it’s great to serve people because I still can.

To all seminar participants: Focus on your goal. I’ll see you on the exceptional side.

I Attract Wealth: Wealth Summit 2017

I still could not believe I became a panelist for Jomar Hilario’s Wealth Summit 2017 talk. Seriously.

Why not? Two years ago, I was a volunteer on his booth; held handwritten posters (you millennials call it fan signs), answered inquiries of Wealth Summit participants, and got starstruck seeing some of big names in financial literacy (and running after Bro. Bo for photos).

One year ago, I was privileged to attend the Bonus Day. It was the day when some entrepreneurs went on stage to share what their company is about and shared best practices. It was during that time I had a change of heart for Filipino business owners. They are passionate in their work and at the same time passionate about the growth of their employees.

Yet there I was, sitting in front with Jomar Hilario. With me were also successful virtual professionals Marco Locanas (a former OFW), Analyn Roque (a mom who used to pile credit card debts) and Nath Reyes (a guy who used to settle for less, now a Video Jedi).

I Attract Wealth: Wealth Summit 2017

While the Wealth Summit participants were learning during that day, we spent the time on two Rs: Revising and Rehearsing. We made sure that our stories made impact in spite of telling the whole thing for a total of three minutes (super hard for me ‘cause I always make the 15,000-word quota for a day for a woman).

I Attract Wealth: Wealth Summit 2017

In between the two Rs, we were able to ask questions and trade stories with our mentor and meet other virtual professionals who also attended the summit. Aaannnddd yes, more video antics while waiting. Plus we had to almost push each other to ask Bro. Bo for photos because he frequented our area to take a peek on some of the sessions.

Finally, 3:45PM came. Jomar’s session was one of those on board that time. It was also our turn.

Not only was our session packed with people. I saw Kerygma Magazine’s Editor-in-Chief Rissa Singson-Kawpeng quietly entered the room and listened to our stories! It was the highlight for me because I have LITERALLY watched her Christian-youth show back in high school. Now, she was watching me and the Motley Crew!

Not kidding ya: Jomar’s Wealth Summit 2017 session was packed!

Somebody came up to me and asked a lot of questions. I hoped I was able to answer all her concerns because I saw her signed up for Jomar’s free session on video marketing. But what moved me was another participant’s remark right after registering for Jomar’s event. She walked up to me and said, “I loved the way you told your story. Your smile never leaves you. It seems like you are a very happy person.”

Well, for someone who got to talk for three minutes about her 6-year virtual career adventure, who wouldn’t?

Wealth Summit 2017: From volunteer to attendee to…

The first time I attended the Wealth Summit was in 2015 as a volunteer for Jomar Hilario’s booth. I even reviewed the Facebook Ad terms and their offline counterpart in this post.

In 2016, I had the chance to sit down and marvel at Filipino business owners at the third day of the Wealth Summit. I told the world about it in this post.

This year (drumroll), I will be one of the panelists for Jomar Hilario’s talk in the upcoming Wealth Summit 2017!

Geesh, talk about level up!

I can now line up myself to past Wealth Summit panelists such as Jones Mancilla, Ana Margarita Olar, Ralph Solomon, Niño and Yuan Natividad, and others. So humbling to be part of the squad!

Wealth Summit is the annual event organized by Truly Rich Club. It has been graced by different speakers that help Filipinos find other income streams so they could live their lives better and serve others more. Wealth Summit has helped a lot of Filipinos not only here but abroad (I have seen OFWs coming home JUST to attend this. Cool, right?)

Two of the ways to grow your income is becoming a virtual professional or an online marketer. My mentor, Jomar Hilario, will talk about how you can earn from the Internet – like me!

I will be joined by other virtual professionals in the panel. My mouth is shut on this information so unfortunately, I can’t tell you who’s part of the motley crew this year. What I can tell you is that they too, had changed lives since becoming a virtual professional.

So just in case you’d like to hear me talk about my virtual professional journey (and hear my mentor and my motley crew talk, too), I invite you to join Wealth Summit 2017. Click here for details.

I am excited (and yes super nervous)! See you there!

Wealth Summit 2017: The Science of Wealth Attraction will be held at March 3 and 4, 2017 (with a Business Launch Pad Bonus Day on March 5) at PICC, Manila. Visit this site to reserve your seats now.

I just shed a tear on live Internet

I just shed a tear on live Internet.

Believe me when I say that I am always grateful to my mentor, Jomar Hilario, every time he is giving me an opportunity to share my virtual professional journey.

Recently, I shared to the participants of his latest Ask Me Anything Marathon Webinar how I prepared our house, bedroom and family for my virtual career. Looking back, it was an exceptional journey. It never occurred to me that I would be able to experience preparing for my virtual career journey, let alone sharing it. I used to hear other virtual professionals prepared their house, bedroom and family for my virtual career.

I just shed a tear on live Internet.

This is one of the teaser posters for the marathon webinar.

I just shed a tear on live Internet.

Another one.

I just shed a tear on live Internet.

Aaannnddd another one.

Everything went on smoothly during my audio test with Isabelle Cuenco (one of Jomar’s virtual professionals) days before the webinar. However, nothing prepared me for the live webinar.

I think some of the webinar attendees forgot what my topic was about and remembered just one person: my Papa.

I just shed a tear on live Internet.

This is my father on my first Snapchat post of him.

I shared with the webinar participants some stories about my father, with the objective of allowing family members to know a little bit about what a virtual professional does (and bond with them as well).

I just shed a tear on live Internet.

Keep only the things (and people, if I may add) that spark joy.

Judging with the responses that Jomar released from his recent blog, a few shed a tear on my story. Here they are:

I just shed a tear on live Internet.

A screenshot of some of the responses from the webinar. I got this from Jomar’s email newsletter.

Eventually, as one of the participants shared why she cried, I (gasped!) found myself having a lump on my throat and water in my eyes.

Oh. My. God. Am I about to make myself cry?

And as you guessed it, I shed a tear of live Internet.

And as Jomar said, “Success leaves tracks.” So I guess the crying moment goes with that, too.

Not complaining, by the way.

I just shed a tear on live Internet.

Success leaves tracks.
