Have you found the book that can change your life?

I recently tweeted that I am now on my 15th book of the year!

I was happy to tweet that for many reasons: one, I am beyond my target of one book a month (12 books a year); two, I am reading more physical books you know, the one with paper and you hold it with your two hands?) than listening to audio books; three, as related to reason number two – is because I now have the time to read a physical book!

But out of the 15 books, I found two that are really life-changing. The two books are easy-to-read and easy-to-apply. If I will follow the instructions of the book, I will again see myself on a new adventure. But since it is not yet the end of the year, I will keep the book titles a secret (wink wink).

Indeed, reading books is not only expanding my horizon and imagination; it also lets me discover new things that can help me improve myself.

How about you? Have you found the book that can change your life?

If I may suggest, I recommend you to buy “Virtual Careers: Earn Dollars at Home, Eliminate Daily Stress, Embrace Your Family More”, the first-ever book of my mentor, Jomar Hilario. You will discover a secret formula that unlocks the steps to your virtual career, unique solutions to fix most online job problems and more.

Get a chance to peep on the stories of ordinary Filipinos who work from home (like moi). And for inspiration, the book also has wonderful freedom scenes that you will experience if you follow the instructions in the book!

Virtual Careers is the book version of the How to Become a Virtual Assistant Seminar that Jomar ran for many years. I have attended that seminar twice – one in a downloadable version (learn at your own pace) and one live event (where I got to share my experiences as a virtual professional). The seminar paved the way for me to become a virtual professional.

I am happy that the Virtual Careers book finally came out. It is one of the few books in the country that talks about virtual careers (because people think we don’t exist). I was able to attend a few live meet ups with Jomar where during our activity, he would write this book. I realized how hard it is to write a book, yet it inspired me to publish mine in the near future.

My mother has read the book right after I got home from buying it at the 36th Manila International Book Fair at the SMX Convention Center. She realized she reached the middle of the book! Go check her mid-book review.

If you think this book is for you, then go get your copy at the 36th Manila International Book Fair happening at the SMX Convention Center from 16 to 20 September 2015. Go to the booth of Shepherd’s Voice Publications in Aisle K (K for Kerygma!). Who knows? You might get to talk to my mentor, too!

55 What #AlDub is teaching us about Marketing

What #AlDub is teaching us about Marketing

Okay, okay. I am going to confess: I have watched TV in the afternoons these past weeks.

My usual routine in the afternoon is going straight to the home office after a short nap. This time around, I am switching the television on to watch Eat Bulaga, a long-time variety show in the Philippines. If you were one of the attendees of the Date with Freedom: 2015 Virtual Careers Summit and Seminar, you may remember that I even suggested to study marketing instead of watch television. What happened to me? Continue reading

How I Am Improving My Marketing Skills with iPod

In 2012, I bought an iPod classic from Olx.com (then Sulit.com). After attending the How to Become a VA Seminar two weeks before, I decided to look for a second-hand iPod classic so I can put Jim Rohn audios, amazing Christian songs (and other positive songs), and audiobooks (believe me, I could be unstoppable when buying audiobooks, same as the good ol’ physical book).

My iPod classic was an exceptional companion (it still is!) during my employment years until I became a full-time virtual assistant. Since I bought it three years ago, I have added webinar audio versions of the other Jomar Hilario programs, videos, and podcasts. I have also downloaded several Hard to Find Seminars audio files. Here’s the second part of the Date With Freedom: Virtual Career Summit and Seminar highlights.

Again, super thanks to Jonas San Luis (believe me, when this guy passes by, everybody smiles). Layouts done via Canva.

To all those who have attended: I suggest you post the visuals on your favorite social media accounts. Or better yet, post them on your wall or in your bathroom or in your refrigerators. Let these serve as reminders for you to act. 🙂 Continue reading

Date With Freedom Highlights Part 1

If you attended the Date With Freedom: Virtual Career and Summit Seminar, your Facebook News Feed is full of smiling and happy people. The event was so much fun!

I am honored and humbled to be part of the summit and seminar. I’m still wondering why the participants were laughing on almost every word I said (LOL), but do know that I pray for their journey towards freedom. May the fun and inspiration they got propel them into action.

In case you missed the event (where were you?), here are the highlights. Super thanks to Jonas San Luis for the photos. I did all of these layouts in Canva. Continue reading

Date with Freedom Week: A Note from J.A.R.V.I.S. and Hawkeye

I watched the movie days after Captain America: Civil War started its production. See, I really can delay rewards.

I watched the movie days after Captain America: Civil War started its production. See, I really can delay rewards.

I just watched the Avengers: Age of Ultron last week. I really can delay rewards, especially if it is watching a movie. I watched it for two reasons: one, I realized that once Tomorrowland and Pitch Perfect 2 hit the theaters, Avengers 2 might be bumped off the cinemas; two, I got a new client to work with.

A new client! I got the latest opportunity from OnlineJobs.ph.

When I finally watched the movie, I realized another reason: LESSONS! For those of you who will be joining the Date with Freedom: Virtual Career Summit and Seminar, these lessons are for you. Continue reading

If third time’s a charm, then so be it.

Not only was I able to grace the weekly webinar of my mentor, Jomar Hilario recently. I was also able to teach other virtual career workers skills on visuals!

I was privileged to be a guest in the webinar for the third time, this time showing the participants the 7 visual ideas that can increase social engagement. I learned them from my former client, Marcus Ho, who was just happy to know that the webinar went well.

To make sure the webinar attendees understood what they learned, I asked them to choose 4 out of 7 visual ideas that they prefer and look for examples for each visual. As of this writing, the attendees are still posting their assignment outputs in the Facebook Groups where we belong (You smashed it, guys! Good job!)

To my surprise, Jomar asked me to demo how I created a visual bullet using Canva. This happened after I mentioned during the webinar that I will be creating a visual out of the 3 success lessons from Manny Pacquiao (discussed in the webinar). Well, I was happy to oblige.

The webinar replay is featured in the Date with Freedom website as of this writing. But if a new webinar is up, no worries. Here are the videos (now in three-part series!).

Happy learning!
