From “Thank you” to “Teach us”? Talk about a plot twist!
6 years ago, I met Jeff J Hunter in Davao.
Fast-forward to last week, and I’m standing in front of his team, ready to lead a leadership training.
How did that happen?
I sent a message to Jeff. I talked about how his A.I. Persona Method has been helping me so far.
Then, he said that it’s a good thing I sent updates. He remembered I did financial training sessions with the VA Staffer during the pandemic.
“The VA Staff Leadership Team is here. Can you teach them leadership skills?”
What? He’s asking me to train his team!
Talk about a full-circle moment.
Nervous? Oh yes I was! But excitement won out.
I immediately did research, outline, and rehearsals. I even reached out to Jack, Jeff’s executive assistant, to make sure to customize parts of the training.
Walking into that team room, Jeff’s warm smile and hug melted away my jitters.
But the real magic? Watching these young leaders open up, share experiences, and embrace the challenges.
As the session unfolded, something beautiful happened. We unearthed unexpected lessons and faced hard truths. I know that those lessons and truths will make the team grow together.
The team’s positive feedback was the cherry on top.
But I am more excited about those leaders continuing leveling up, armed with new insights and a spirit of honesty.
Who knew a simple “thank you” could lead to such an incredible opportunity?
Thanks, Jeff, and VA Staffer Leaders! Also, great meeting Jay-cee Tan, Charlene Hilario-Pesca, and Andy Young!
