Fake news.
Wow.
I cannot believe I now live in a world where two contrasting words, “fake” and “news”, are now together as a term. And its meaning doesn’t look good.
And fake news is now a part of life. Sigh, such are the simple times.
Even so, this is not the time to be silent.
As a social media and content marketing strategist, I presented a topic on fake news for our parish’s Social Communications Ministry.
Why?
Because parishes should be at the forefront in the fight against fake news.
If news can be distorted, faith can be, too.
I need not make the topic so deep. The ministry members are mostly youths. Heck, they know social media more than I do, I think.
They need reminders about their presentation as members of the Social Communications Ministry and also as responsible social media users.
