Taking the Lead

Have you ever been told to take the lead, yet you felt both thrilled and terrified?

Months ago, after gathering insights, lessons, and realizations from mentors and seminars, my business partner looked at me and said, “I want you to take the lead on this.”

I handed over my action plans—validation in one hand, heavy responsibility on the other.

At first, I felt a surge of pride.

But then the questions crept in: What if I fail? What if I don’t show up? What if it all falls apart?

You may not be aware of it, but both excitement and fear settled in my chest.

Listening to Brother Bo at one of the Feast AM sessions, he reminded me: “Earn as much as you can so you can give as much as you can.”

Later, the priest-confessor pierced through my doubts with a simple truth: “Remember the five loaves and two fishes. It seemed impossible to feed 5,000, but it did. God doesn’t force you to give more than you have—just what’s enough. God wants you to be satisfied, but strive for growth.”

So here I am.

Still excited and scared.

But going to take the first step to lead, anyway.

Giving what I have.

Trusting that growth will follow.

Knowing that for everything else, God’s got me.
