CloudPeeps is one of the freelancing sites I’m subscribed to. The site started in 2015, with Kate Kendall as founder. The objective of the freelancing site to have a better platform where clients could find virtual assistants who could work with them long-term.

Why CloudPeeps deactivated my account – and why I am exceptionally cool about it

I signed up for an account in late 2015. I love CloudPeeps because the base rate per hour that a virtual assistant should post is US$30 per hour. So yes, if you cannot accept that rate in your system, you won’t be able to post that on your CloudPeeps profile with utmost confidence.

Recently, I tried to update my payment information on CloudPeeps. I learned that they aren’t serving Filipino virtual assistants for now.

I immediately sent an email to their customer service, told them my concern and asked why.

This was the reply that I got:

Why CloudPeeps deactivated my account – and why I am exceptionally cool about it

CloudPeeps deactivated my account.

Bummer. I love CloudPeeps because of its “exclusivity” feel and the credibility of the businesses that post online job opportunities there. But then, they don’t serve Filipino virtual assistants.

Nevertheless, I was just cool with it. Freelancing sites aren’t the only way to find clients. I got this website (aside from LinkedIn and Craigslist). I can do Facebook or LinkedIn ads to drive potential clients on my website and voila, they would see me.

I am confident that CloudPeeps would open its arms to Filipino virtual assistants. But I won’t wait in vain. I find better ways.

So I’m just exceptionally cool about it.
