Heard from a news bit: World Bank said PH is ranked 173rd in terms of registering a business.

World Bank isn’t lying. I wish it did.

I spent close to 9 hours in BIR’s Revenue District Office (RDO) for a change in trade name. I decided to become a sole proprietor from being self-employed.

I know. You might say, “Dapat pinagawa mo sa accountant mo ‘yan.” That was the plan.

But the accountant got sick. At kahit nagkasakit din ako, nauna naman akong gumaling. So ako ang nasa BIR today.

I’ve been to the BIR RDO a few years back to register as a self-employed. The previous experience kept on repeating on my mind as a I traveled this morning going there. I know I have all my documents yet I was still scared.

To summarize my day, it included many waiting times, sitting the whole time in the morning, and standing the whole time in the afternoon. I missed lunch and survived with two single packs of Skyflakes and 2 bottles of mineral water, because I was told that “mahihintay ang mga documents.”

Why was I subjected to another harrowing BIR experience?

Kasi palagi kong iniisip, this is the BEST way to do business. It is my Christian duty to give what is due to Caesar. (‘Yun lang, para ka na ring nagbuhat ng krus ni Kristo.)

Kidding aside, na-realize ko: Kapag pala importante sa ‘yo ang isang bagay, kahit natatakot ka o kahit na pwedeng mangyari na naman ang horror experience, gagawin mo pa din kasi kailangan.

Kasi alam mong worth it lahat ng pinaghirapan mo.

Here’s the HARD TRUTH: You know the fact that you’d fail as your go through your online career journey. Pero dahil takot ka, hindi mo na lang gagawin kahit na alam mong SUCCESS is within your reach.

You doubt yourself. You are scared. So you don’t do anything about it. We know you know the word “comfort zone”. You know it so much you stay within its boundaries.

My hope for you is that you’d take your first step to success.

Because if you won’t, then when?
